A microwave would be a simple addition!!! More snack options or later café hours could elevate the experience!!! A second chair in the room would enhance comfort!!!

Solo travelers gem
I was really impressed by the friendly staff, particularly Mr Gregory at the front desk who was so attentive and knowledgeable about the area, made us feel right at home. On one rainy afternoon, I spent hours in the cozy cafe down stairs, sipping coffee while admiring the unique train memorabilia throughout the hotel.
It wasn’t exactly a bargain but I felt justified in spending the money.

Just a prime choice for a cursory stop in New Orleans with outstanding value. The staff was super friendly and helped with local tips that made our time there enjoyable. Bring some snacks since the café closes early.

Convenient location and spacious rooms
I really enjoyed my stay here as the hotel is a short three-minute walk from the French Quarter, making it super convenient for exploring. My spacious room was clean and had a comfortable king bed with nice views overlooking St Louis Cemetery No. 1. The onsite visitor center and the hop-on, hop-off bus stop added a lot of value to my stay, allowing easy access to all the sights. However, I found the café's early closing time a bit inconvenient, especially when craving a late-night snack.

The Brakeman Hotel has a superb location just a short walk from the French Quarter. I loved that the hotel is situated in a charming building that used to be a rail station, adding character to our stay. The spacious room offers a comfy king bed with a fantastic view of St Louis Cemetery No. 1. The reception staff, particularly Renisha, provided excellent service, catering to all our needs from the moment we arrived. The parking on-site was a bonus at just $20 a day. However, I found the café's early closing time inconvenient, especially as we craved a late-night snack but couldn't find much nearby. Also, the room could use another chair and a microwave for added comfort. While the bathroom was roomy and clean, the absence of blackout curtains was a downside since the blinds didn’t adequately block out morning light. Overall, I felt we received value for our money given the hotel's amenities and proximity to attractions.
